by Pete Nicely As Chris Savage reported on A2Politico just a few days ago, in less than 30 words Republicans in the Michigan State Senate recently performed some magic. By adding a few choice words, they turned water into whine, creating an anti-bullying bill that would empower even parents to teach those nerds a lesson: [...]

by Erika McNamara Being homeless, once again, is the evil that lurks in every shadow ready to destroy all that is good and right. This is obviously true after homeless individuals were blamed, in a recent piece posted to AnnArbor.com, for the shutdown of Poshh boutique in downtown Ann Arbor. There is a subtle irony [...]

by P.D. Lesko Somewhat famously, former Third Ward Council member Leigh Greden (right) was caught via Council emails that had been released in response to Freedom of Information Act requests, telling his Council colleagues that all he cared about was “money and buildings.” Greden, then a member of the powerful law firm of Miller Canfield, [...]

by P.D. Lesko U.S. Representative John Dingell and his wife Debbie couldn’t save Second Ward Council member Stephen Rapundalo’s political hide. Dingell endorsed Rapundalo and donated $250 to his campaign. While challenger Jane Lumm spoke at her victory party about the widespread support her candidacy had enjoyed from the residents in the Second Ward, someone in [...]

by P.D. Lesko The headline at Salon.com says it all: “America’s Corporate Tax Obscenity: A new report about companies’ finances won’t just enrage you it’ll make you run to the nearest protest.” Salon writer Andrew Leonard writes: “Altogether, according to ‘Corporate Taxpayers & Corporate Tax Dodgers 2008-10,’ a blockbuster new report put together by the Citizens [...]

by William Belle This is a great film and I’m no sports nut. In fact, you don’t really have to know much about baseball to get into the story as this is more of your classic underdog trying to win by beating the system by going against the grain. “Moneyball” is based on Michael Lewis’s [...]

by P.D. Lesko In June of 2009, the now defunct Ann Arbor News broke a story that revealed Ann Arbor City Council members were abusing email during open meetings to mock and make fun of constituents, to script debates and to rig votes, such as a vote on whether to support a salary increase for themselves.
